ABOUT THIS PROJECT

1951 Cape Cod Remodel & Renovation

When the homeowners purchased this home, they knew they needed help. It had been severely neglected and so every room needed TLC. The kitchen needed a major remodel and the entire home needed a fresh coat of paint and new flooring.

On the main floor, I redesigned their kitchen and dining room space, moved their bathroom to a new location to open up the sightlines from the front door to the back of the house, created a storage closet next to the new bathroom, and added a much needed coat closet in the family room.

On the second floor, I reconfigured the kid's bathroom, laundry closet, and bedroom. There were very odd angles that needed to be squared fixed. I added a wardrobe closet in the primary bedroom and refinished the primary bathroom vanity. I also closed off a landing across from the stairs that was inaccessible and created a hideaway opening for their kids under the staircase to the third floor.

They had six wonderful years in the home, but their family continued to grow, and they eventually needed a bigger home. When they sold their home they hired Leslie Anderson Interiors  to stage their home. Leslie did a wonderful job, and her work is showcased alongside mine in these photos.
